“no theme” was created for the Creators Collective 2023 Gallery. Creators Collective is a student organization that shows off student-made art at the University of Waterloo. I made this as part of the team in my pitch for the 2023 gallery theme. I designed this logo as part of a pitch I did for the theme of the 2023 gallery. The idea of no theme is that the gallery shouldn't dictate what art it is and shouldn't limit what art is submitted. We don’t get to prescribe what is submitted. We let artists submit whatever they want, and in doing so see what different people consider art. The theme should fall into the background while presenting what the students have created. I designed this logo to do just that. The branding shouldn’t be the focus. It should simply communicate with the viewer. I pitched this idea and logo and it was chosen as the official gallery logo for 2023.
